A True Doll Lover Who Brings Pure Joy to the Community

If you spend time on our Facebook group Everything Curvy Barbie you’ve probably seen the lovely photos posted by D Lyles Haggins (Donna).

While many of us post dolls modeling, reviews, new releases, complaints about quality, or hauls of doll clothes, Donna does something completely different. She is more of a doll lover than a traditional collector. She owns several dolls (mostly Black and curvy ones), but she doesn’t show off expensive boxes or chase after every new Mattel release.

What she shares most are charming, everyday scenes of her dolls sitting in the car on that famous pink fluffy seat, complete with little accessories: a coffee cup, milkshake, purse, cute glasses, and comfy outfits. Every photo feels thoughtful and full of personality.

Her captions are always warm, positive, and uplifting, like these:

“Good Monday Morning my friends, yeess. We are at it again … Road Trip … We are on our way. We just wanted to wish everyone a Marvelous Monday and have a great day on purpose ”

“Good afternoon, happy Saturday doll friends … We’re at it again. Road trip … We’re on our way to Columbia than to the Beach … for a mini vacation … how much fun. We are so excited. We hope everyone have a super Saturday ”

It feels like her dolls are real travel buddies. She creates little everyday stories — heading to the beach, dressing for the weather, enjoying a mini vacation — always with a sweet, polite, and happy vibe.

What stands out the most is how she contrasts with the more competitive or negative side of the community. No complaints, no “look what I just bought,” no rush to show the newest or most expensive doll. Just pure love and creativity with the dolls she already has.

Donna also doesn’t limit herself to only Black dolls — she likes and comments on everyone’s posts in a kind way. But she naturally chooses to photograph the ones she connects with most, without making it into a big statement.

If you haven’t seen her style yet, go look for the posts with the pink fluffy car seat in the group. The photos are simple, but they carry a genuine happiness that’s really contagious.

Donna, if you’re reading this: thank you for bringing such lightness and positivity to our hobby! Keep taking those road trips with your girls… we love following along!!
